Ensuite
The Sweet Ensuite project began with a less-than-sweet sight – a bathroom plagued by water damage and in need of a makeover. The challenge was further compounded by the unavailability of the original tiles, requiring a complete replacement. While the client initially desired a small cosmetic renovation with tile and flooring updates, her mention of a standalone tub sparked the imagination of our design team. We wasted no time in brainstorming ideas, quite literally starting at the drawing board.
We provided the client with a full hand-drawn rendering showcasing a new design layout that would transform the 225-square-foot ensuite. Our first step involved removing the symmetrical vaulted ceiling and lowering it to create clean, streamlined planes throughout the space.
By aligning the walls strategically, we created an open concept that immediately opened up the room. Additionally we eliminated the water closet door and cleverly designed a custom cabinet to fit in the previously unused and awkward space behind it. To enhance functionality and
space utilization, we replaced the door with a pocket door, optimizing flow and visual appeal.
To optimize the usage of the room, we repositioned the old vanity area to be near the wet room, designating it as the hygiene area. A custom vanity was designed specifically for this purpose, ensuring ample storage and dedicated space for grooming activities. The previous vanity location was repurposed as the grooming area, complete with custom vanity tailored to meet the client’s needs. This thoughtful reorganization of the space allowed for better organization and efficiency in the ensuite.
In addition to the major changes, we created additional storage in the water closet and transformed the previously overshadowed skylight into a striking focal point within the room. The reimagined Sweet Ensuite is a testament to our commitment to designing functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that fulfill our clients’ desires.
Overall, the Sweet Ensuite renovation project delivered a visually stunning and highly functional bathroom that exceeded the client’s expectations. The unique design elements, and custom walnut vanities, wet-room concept, and attention to detail transformed a damaged and outdated space into a truly sweet retreat.
